Education
I have completed an Honours Degree in Organisational Communication in 2008 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree with Communication Science and Industrial Psychology majors in 2003. I have currently applied for registration for a Master's Degree in Communication Science, with specialisation in Organisational Communication, at the University of South Africa (Unisa). The proposed topic of my dissertation: An Internal Communication Satisfaction Audit of the Rustenburg Local Municapality [RLM]. This is a quantitative study. I have completed a preliminary study at the RLM, using focus group interviews, and wish to continue with my investigation of their internal communication practices. Thus, I am entering an area of study that I am familiar with, and feel confident and ready for the challenge that lies ahead - A Dissertation!Wish Me Luck!
Career
I am currently employed as a tutor for Communication Science and Industrial Psychology at Unisa's Rustenburg branch. I was also accepted for the position of an adjunct lecturer, in the Department of Communication Science at Unisa's main campus in September 2010, but was unable to take-up the post due to personal circumstancesMy career path has been rooted in the field of education, having worked as an educator in Rustenburg, teaching high school learners up to Grade 12.Nonetheless, my ultimate career goal lies in the Organisational Communication Research & Development Field,
despite my love of the academic world. Maybe, some day I could practice both fields concurrently! Just maybe...............
About My Portfolio
While doing my preliminary study at the RLM, I realised how inconspicuous Rustenburg is through the lack of information about this Dynamic City. Therefore, I decided to launch an information site that encompassed all the disparate pieces of information available about this vibrant city. I plan to add more information on to this site in future...Possibly also use an online survey for my research study
with the knowledge gained through this challengingly insigthful course.......
